Lucky little birthday girl

As most of you know Addy turned 2 on September 28. She was so excited for her birthday weekend and knew that Namma, Papa, Oma and Hopaw were coming, that she was going to get cake and that she was going to get presents. Wes asked Addy what she wanted for her birthday and she said "A Bike". We just looked at each other and laughed because we thought it was one of those kid things to say and then you ask them next time and they say something else. So we decided to wait a few days and ask again. We said " Addy, do you know that your birthday is coming up"? She say "Uh, HUH and Namma, Papa, Oma and Hopaw come." "Yep" we said and you get to have cake and candles to blow out". She said "Uh Huh". Then we asked" so what do you want for your birthday"? She looks at us and puts her arms up, as if to drive something and says "A BIKE"? We laughed so hard and thought where we might buy her one if we did. Luckily a block away there was a yard sale the night before her party and there was a little bike there for $2. You can't beat that!
SO Saturday we all went to Addy's friends house to swim , eat and have cake. We had a lot of fun. Addy and Gabby were so excited to to eat caterpillars and watermelon for lunch and then have yummy cake and ice cream.

Since Addy is obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba, Wes thought we would put her favorite character on it named Foofa. Wes put it on there and it looked AWESOME! Addy loved it and tried to sneak icing off of the cake before we were ready to sing. My Grandma Nette would have been proud (she loved to tell us to stick our fingers in the icing)!!

Addy received her first present in the mail from Aunt Peaches. She got a tent, and a easel with a blackboard on one side, dry erase on the other and a roll of paper that comes down on one side. It came with chalk, eraser, markers, dry erase and colored pencils, the works! She loves it. I think she likes to erase more than anything. Silly girl.

The next set of gifts were from the grandparents. They got her a kitchen and all the bells and whistles that go with it. She loves it and plays kitchen every day. The best part is the oven mitt. She puts it on one hand, holds that arm up so that it does not fall of and then she plays with the other hand! She is super funny.

The presents were given in three day increments, so we would not overwhelm her. We also had three different days that we blew out candles and ate cake, Saturday, Sunday and her real birthday Monday. She loved every minute.
My Aunt Ellen gave me a suggestion that one of her friends did, to take a picture on every birthday morning and that the result is pretty fun. SO I am trying to remember to take a picture right when she wakes up. This is what we got.....

This one she was saying go away.
After waking up we headed over to Oma and Opa's hotel and had breakfast with them. Addy got to wear her favorite shirt , rainbow and her favorite pink skirt. She loved drinking a smoothie shot and eating cereal, best of all swinging on the handrail. Oma and Opa left that morning.

The next gift was from us and it was the bike, of course she loved it.
Later that day Addy spent most of the before noon hour with Papa at the park. She also got to sit on the love sac and eat his favorite Potato chips with him.

And the luckiest part is that she got to have her very own cupcake and blow out candles for the 3rd time.
