The adventures of Eve and Addy.

Addy and I have been having a great time. Since we are still in the process of making friends we have plenty of time to do anything and everything else. The first week we were here Wes took us to the Red Rock Casino buffet. It was delicious! Addy loved it and ate more than she has ever eaten before in her life. She even got down from her chair and danced around...that is how good it was.

Addy loves to do art projects. She loves to color, draw, paint and I taught her to use stamps.
Stamping: We found some cute little stampers at the dollar store and we couldn't find any ink. So we improvised. We used ketchup, mustard, and chocolate pudding. Addy loved doing this project by far from any others because if it got on her she could lick it off. She actually spent more time licking then actual stamping..but she had fun and that was the point.

Drawing: she is serious when it comes to drawing. She gets down and puts her little face so close to the paper and just draws away. She actually will draw for a minute and look up and say "dog"...draws a little more, looks up "cat". She will also draw you anything you ask her too. You can't tell what they are yet of course but she for sure knows what she drew. Even later I will point to one of the drawing and ask her what it is and she will tell me exactly the same thing she told me the first time.
Coloring and water coloring: She will only color on blank paper and mostly uses the magic paper and markers. If I give her a coloring book, she will look at the pictures, and maybe make a mark here and there but not as much as the magic paper. Water colors are different. She will use the paper for it but still draws her own things on it.

Finger paints: sometimes we use ketchup but I just found a four pack of paints for a dollar and decided to try them out. Addy painted her body and did hand and feet stamps all over the place (outside of course)

If we are not doing art projects we are probably swimming. Addy is a master swimmer. We found some arm floats at , yes the Dollar Tree, my favorite place. She hated them at first but when she realized she could do it by herself, I could not get them off of her. The first day of the floats when she went off the step she would clam up, cross her feet and start giggling nervously. The next few times she understood it better and now she swims all over the pool without any help. She also loves to jump off of the side on her count of two.

If we aren't at the pool staying away from the heat we are definitely at the park. Addy will start saying PARK over and over again starting at 7am until she is able to go. We have found the best parks here (meaning playgrounds). Some are covered, some aren't, some are HUGE, some are small, some are busy and others no one ever goes to, some are new and others are Ghetto, and some of them have a mini water park. We have so much fun finding and playing on these playgrounds! She still loves to slide and is getting into the climbing thing.

We have started spelling park, and some other words with her and it is super funny. We do it like a cheerleading cheer...Say P...p..say A..a...say R...r...say K..k what does that spell? PARK she yells! Where are we going to go? PARK. The funny thing is when we spell other words with her like CAKE, when I ask what that spells she yells.. PARK! We are learning right? I have started doing a word of the week and have the word spelled out on the fridge with magnets and any time we are in the kitchen we spell the word on the fridge. We have to be careful though because once you have said that word she wants to go there right away!

On Mondays and Tuesdays there is a storytime at the library. We have gone twice and it is just ok. On Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings there is a free family movie at the theater. Addy loves this and says "movie, movie" chanting from the back seat. We only go for about 2o minutes or so before she asks to go home. Last week we saw Mr Bean, I was happy when she wanted to leave for that one! This week we saw 20 minutes of Madagascar 2. She really just named all of the animals and their sounds and then she was ready to go home.

After a day of fun Addy looks like this for her nap time. Even though I wear her and myself out during the day she still gets up at 5:15 on the dot!

I am totally going to do the stamp idea with the little playgroup I have. I love all the fun things you do with Addy. You are a great mom.
