This week was once again full of adventure! Tuesday we decided to celebrate National Hot dog day at Weienerschnitzel. We felt like we walked into a Dairy Queen in Kentucky. The clientèle were not very classy and the hot dogs .....well they were boiled. Even though they were rubber, we can't complain because they were FREE!
Wednesday Eve and Addy hung out all day with an attorney who works in Wes's office. She has a baby that is 8 months old. They went on a long walk around town and went swimming. It was a good thing that she came over because that night Wes was stuck at work until 11pm! When Eve was super bored that evening, she took Addy on a walk and found out that there was a free concert going on at the University Village near their house. So from 6-8pm Eve and Addy enjoyed the sounds of acoustic classic rock from the Kings of Marigold. Addy loved it and clapped her hands the whole time.
Each week on Thursdays Addy and Eve go to s tory time at the downtown library. There are songs, stories and fun. Every week there is a raffle and this week Addy won!. She won a little book about food. She loves it! After story time Eve and Addy met Wes for lunch at Simple Simons. Evie had a winter salad, Wes had a roast beeffffthfff sandwich, Addy had fruit and before that....we had a slice pie and the apple filling was piled high, my oh my what a tasty pie! It was one of the biggest and best apple pies we have ever eaten!
Later that night Wes had a Softball game and WON! The score was 16-6 we stomped'em! And of course the after party was at Shakey's.

Friday Evie met up with one of her most favorite friends (Melanie) and her family and ventured off to Balboa Beach. Addy still didn't like the water and cried when she thought she might have to touch it, but this time she discovered the sand. She loved it so much she tried to eat it. After about an hour of playing in the sand and Melanie body boarding the HUGE waves, they walked on the pier, watched people catch some fish, watched the really big waves roll in, went into some shops and ate a huge ice cream cone. Addy slept durin
g the walk and people passing would say "look at that chubby wubby". or "oooh look at that baby". And the favorite is "hey, you should probably start feeding that baby she looks like she's starving", sarcastically. Addy is loved by everyone! The ride home was fun filled too. Addy cried, while Mel and Eve sat in traffic thinking of new ways to sing Wheels on the Bus, and pretty much any other song they could think of. Finally she fell asleep when there was only 10 minutes left in the car. They then picked up Wes and headed off to Fat Burger for some din din. We had a coupon that we didn't understand really...the only thing we knew is that you get something for free if you buy something else. So Eve asked the cashier what it meant and after mumbling something to us for a few seconds, Eve just nodded and said "okay I will have that". She still wasn't sure exactly what the free part was but got the deal anyway. It was yummy! The best part of dinner is when Mel said "what are these little chopped up pickles in the chopped up lettuce"? Eve says "Um Mel I think its relish"! Well maybe you had to be there for that one but it was funny!

Saturday came and Wes and Eve decided to try out yet another beach, Santa Monica. It was beautiful! The day was a little over cast so there weren't many people on the beach but there were plenty walking, running, biking, skating, begging, and just playing on the boardwalk
. There was an area that had gymnastic equipment where people were using a pummel horse, and swinging from ring to ring. It was fun to watch. Then we walked to the pier and saw the amusement park, very strange people and people selling all kinds of things. The weather got really cold while we were on the pier and we had to wrap Addy up. She loved seeing the millions of people and was being a little goon. and she looked like E.T.After the pier we walked and walked to find a good place to eat and found a Caribbean place called Cha Cha Chicken. Wes got the Jerk chicken enchiladas and Eve got the spinach quesadilla. Addy ate rice, beans and fried plantain. After dinner we headed over to the beach to walk in the water and to play. Addy can't handle the sound of the waves crashing in and fell asleep the second we touched the water, but Wes and Eve still played and had a blast. Then back to the car we went and headed home.
But first we had to stop and get some Very Berry self-serve frozen yogurt. Double Yum! We filled up our bowls and put all the toppings on and THEN headed home. Addy decided to be a puppy while we were eating and would beg at one person for a bite of topping(cut up fruit) then crawl to the next and beg again. This went on and on until Wes told her no and she wasn't very happy with that. She threw a big fit and cried and cried. It was so funny.
Sunday was church in the morning and then some relaxation at home. Wes and Eve are reading a series of books ( Twlight, New Moon, and Eclipse) and trying to finish the last one. Usually Addy takes a long nap in the afternoon so we thought we had plenty of time to read but we thought wrong. Addy has her own room (the walk in closet) and sleeps on a little bed on the floor. Most of the time when she goes down for a nap there is a small fight but the sleep wins. Today Addy tried to beat the sleep. Eve put her down for her nap and 2 minutes later pushed the door open and came crawlin
g out. Eve picked her up and put her back in bed then shut the door again. After some waling and then some happy sounds Addy was out of bed and pushing the door open again and playing in our room. So Eve puts Addy in bed again and again and again and shuts the door tighter this time and finally there was silence. We weren't sure if the silence meant she fell asleep or that she was crawling around in there without noise. We didn't want to find out so we just let her stay in there for an hour or so. When we went to wake her up she was asleep in the corner with her feet on her bed! Poor little Addy!Tune in next week for adventures in Ohio.......
